Required Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional technical skills with a high success rate in challenging venipuncture scenarios (e.g., fragile veins, small veins, rolling veins).
- Thorough knowledge of the order of draw and common laboratory tests and specimen requirements.
- Strong commitment to patient safety, confidentiality (HIPAA), and quality assurance.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including the ability to calm and reassure patients.
- Meticulous attention to detail for accurate patient identification and labeling.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods and perform precise manual tasks.
