    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Full-Time Phlebotomist to join our team. Hours would be from 7:45 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. In this role, you will collect blood, tissue, and fluid samples from patients. This is a role that can make a significant impact on people’s lives, helping them identify underlying conditions and stay healthy.

    Responsibilities

    Prioritize requests for sample collection based on urgency

    Collect patients’ personal information

    Determine the correct venipuncture method for each patient

    Provide patients with reassurance during the collection process

    Use sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment to draw blood

    Correctly label samples and send them for testing

    Treat all clients and staff in a welcoming and professional manner.

    Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.

    Ensure patients complete the necessary paperwork for accurate and efficient intake.

    Obtain complete and accurate client information.

    Verify and update patient information at each appointment.

    Fill in cancellations and no-shows with patients on the waiting list.

    Schedule appointments according to office guidelines and providers preferences.

    Manage provider schedules and prepare for the following day.

    Use Azalea software to manage patient records.

    Reinforce and uphold patient confidentiality required by HIPAA.

    Responsible for operating and maintaining office equipment.

    Inventory supplies/materials as needed.

    Maintain the cleanliness of the reception area.

    Alert supervisor of anticipated or actual problems and/or concerns in a timely manner, so that preventive measures and/or solutions may be initiated.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Previous experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician

    Phlebotomy diploma preferred

    Knowledge of best practices in patient identification methods

    Familiarity with the legal requirements regarding blood draws and fluid samples

    Current CPR certification is required.

    Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others.

    Maintains and exercises a high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.

    Flexibility in workflow

    Ability to multi-task in high-stress situations

    Proficient use or ability to learn multiple technology platforms.
