NRC Research Institute has been conducting clinical trials for the world’s pharmaceutical firms since 2004. We specialize in pharmaceutical clinical trials involving CNS (Central Nervous System) disorders such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, ADHD, Autism, and more.
We are seeking a Phlebotomist / Laboratory Coordinator to join our team! You will be responsible for collecting, processing, and shipping out biological samples from patients
DAILY: □ Assist Study Coordinators with patient visits and source document completion □ Obtain clinical assessments (height, weight, vital signs, ECGs, etc ) □ Turnover and upkeep of general research office areas, including intake, exam rooms □ Perform phlebotomy and onsite lab testing (i.e. UDS, UPT, etc) on patients □ Prepare lab specimens for analysis □ Packing and shipping laboratory specimens per IATA guidelines □ Log data for all lab draw and shipment of all specimens collected □ Maintain upkeep of general lab areas (including lab storage) □ Receive and distribute incoming shipments □ Update temperature logs, lab (-20 freezer, -70 freezer) □ Update temperature logs, drug room (ambient, fridge)* DAILY, AS NEEDED: □ Assist with reception duties, including greeting patients and guests, answering phones, routing calls/messages, etc □ Schedule courier pick up for labs (except FedEx Express – automatic p/u) □ Perform offsite laboratory collection □ Perform clinical data entry as requested □ Scan documents and/or make copies □ Other miscellaneous duties as needed WEEKLY: □ Monitor lab and kit inventory for resupply □ Track and remove expired kits MONTHLY: □ Organize kit breakdown and donations (sort, log, price, ship, etc.)
Qualifications:
Valid phlebotomy certification w/ minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience, CPT-1 or higher preferred
Able to draw various populations, from 5 yrs old and up
Must be skilled with collecting samples from difficult draws, hand draws, etc.
Comfortable working with a psychiatric population
Strong organizational skills
Experience working in clinical trials is preferred
Saf-T-pak/IATA certification is preferred
Adept with computers, MS Office Skills (Excel, Word)
A basic phlebotomy and/or clinical skills test will be conducted during interview
Position Type:
Part-Time (Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm)
Able to start ASAP
Wage: DOE, starting $27.00/hr
