    Arizona Spine and Joint Hospital is looking for an experienced Phlebotomist to join our team on a PRN basis.

    Essential Skills

    • Assists Clinical Lab Scientist with laboratory specimen processing and clerical work when needed.
    • Maintains laboratory and pathology work area, blood collection trays, supply inventory and ordering process.
    • Completes duties in a time efficient manner, knows how to prioritize STAT orders, ASAP orders, scheduled orders and outpatients.
    • Performs proper patient identification process following hospital’s patient identifiers prior to blood collection or EKG procedure.
    • Consistently draws blood competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible.
    • Performs EKG's efficiently with timely completion of annual EKG competency.
    • Requires minimal supervision in performance of job duties but seeks guidance and direction whenever needed.

    • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to demonstrate clear oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of good laboratory practices and specimen integrity & stability.
    • Ability to effectively plan and prioritize work, multitask and manage time effectively.
    • Ability to maintain collaborative working relationships to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
    • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
    • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Meditech Systems.

    Required Experience

    **Minimum Education and Experience **

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum one year of phlebotomy experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

    Required License and Certifications

    • Valid Phlebotomy certification with the State of California Department of Health Services is required.
