Your Role: As a Phlebotomist at Good Shepherd, you’ll play a vital role in our patient care team. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Specimen Collection: Collect blood, urine, throat swabs, and other samples using proper technique, ensuring patient comfort and sample integrity.
Testing & Processing: Conduct basic lab and point-of-care testing, process and prepare specimens for internal testing or transport to reference labs.
Order Clarification: Verify test orders, resolve discrepancies, and escalate unresolved cases appropriately.
EHR Documentation: Accurately enter collection details and test results into our electronic health record system.
Lab Maintenance: Keep lab areas clean, stocked, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
What We’re Looking For:
Skills: Strong attention to detail, familiarity with lab safety procedures, and ability to communicate effectively with patients and providers. Experience using electronic health records preferred.
