    Phoenix Cyber is looking for a Data Scientist to join our client delivery team. This position is onsite at the client location in Rockville, MD.

    Responsibilities

    • Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to ensure its quality and integrity.
    • Develop and implement statistical models, algorithms, and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
    • Apply exploratory data analysis techniques to identify patterns, correlations, and anomalies in data.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, formulate relevant research questions, and design appropriate experiments.
    • Build predictive models and algorithms to solve complex business problems and optimize decision-making processes.
    • Create visualizations, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and related fields, and proactively apply new techniques to improve existing models and methodologies.
    • Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to develop and maintain data infrastructure, ensuring data accessibility, reliability, and security.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business growth, improve customer experiences, and optimize operations.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, statistics, mathematics, or data science). A Ph.D. may be preferred for more research-focused roles.
    • Proven experience as a data scientist or in a similar role, with a track record of delivering data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, as well as knowledge of relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
    • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, time series analysis, and experimental design.
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib) to create clear and impactful visual representations of data.
    • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, or SQL) and database querying languages (e.g., SQL) to work with large datasets efficiently.
    • Solid knowledge of machine learning algorithms (e.g., linear regression, decision trees, random forests, neural networks) and their application in real-world scenarios.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be able to pass a government background investigation.
