We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of SOFTWARE ENGINEER IV.
The Software Engineer reports up through the Engineering Management team and performs software design, code, unit test, integration and testing to satisfy project requirements. Additionally, this position will be assigned other projects or tasks in alignment with the level and scope of the position.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Work together in a small team of software professionals within an Agile development environment to accomplish team milestones while collaborating with other teams to achieve project strategic goals; With everyone working in concert to create the best product possible.
Be part of shaping the design, processes, and tools used for the project knowing we value entrepreneurship and 'out of the box' thinking.
Be comfortable being yourself and expressing your personality and personal qualities to influence our tight-knit software development teams.
Participate in brainstorming, consensus building and other team activities to identify actions that improve our products and processes.
Creates use cases and performs object-oriented analysis and design with close interaction with customer and domain experts.
Develops testing routines and/or procedures.
Creates flowcharts and other documentations to identify requirements for software and to propose possible solutions.
Coordinates with hardware engineers and other staff to forecast whether the design will be feasible under cost and time constraints.
Adheres to strict CMMI quality procedures to ensure first time quality in delivered products.
Performs software requirements analysis and may lead subsystem level development teams.
Directs software programming and development of documentation.
Applies computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the software development process.
May lead small development teams in terms of task breakdown, progress tracking, and technical issue resolution to ensure product success.
Provides technical support for software maintenance or use.
Communicates with customers and clients to establish maintenance procedures for software systems.
Domestic and International travel to Military Installations in support of the Program activities may be required.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field required.
Minimum of Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in the software development industry or simulation experience
Expertise in geospatial software design, build, scripting, integration, verification, validation, with an emphasis on validation by government agencies.
Prefer experience with the Program or similar constructive M&S software
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Have significant JavaScript, Java, and/or C++ experience.
Experience working with service-based architectures.
Experience with distributed systems
Junit or protractor for dev testing
Preferred experience with development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or TSP
Experience using Relational Database Management Systems such as Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, and/or Oracle
Experience using an IDE such as Microsoft Visual Studio or Eclipse
Experience using a source code repository such as BitBucket, Mercurial, GIT, or Subversion
Experience using a defect management system such as Bugzilla, JIRA, or Fogbugz
Experience using Microsoft Office Products such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
