Job Description

The specialist must possess a great working attitude and while exercising accountability and professionalism in a fast-paced atmosphere. The specialist will work closely with the Healthcare Billing and Operation Teams to ensure patient profile, demographics and authorizations are obtained, maintained, and entered in the EMR with the highest quality in a timely manner.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enter new patient profile, or maintain demographics on existing patients in the EMR.
• Coordinate with Intake and Operations the authorization needs for current and upcoming patients
• Submit authorization request to payers
• Enter and maintain authorization information within the EMR
• Track and follow up on pending authorization request
• Manage authorization reports
• Provide ongoing insight for continuous improvement efforts as it applies to the authorization process.
• Other duties as assigned

• Previous experience working in an office/professional setting.

• Be Willing to take on new tasks
• Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
• Previous experience working with Home Health authorization or billing (Preferred)
• Previous experience working with an EMR system (Preferred)
