    We are currently seeking applicants for 5 full time Assembler I positions in Gilbert, AZ supporting aerospace manufacturing activities. PLI will provide you the opportunity to obtain your IPC-620 and J-STD-001 Certifications.

    SUMMARY:

    The ASSEMBLER I undertakes tasks as an entry level production team member under immediate supervision of assigned Production lead(s) or Supervisor and reports to the Production Manager at our Gilbert, AZ facility.  The Assembler I will learn to fabricate, assemble, modify, repair, test, and provide shop support to production and prototype wire harnesses and electrical assemblies.  The Assembler I should have the ability to fabricate mission critical assemblies by performing basic assembly functions such as wire prep, CAN assembly, tape and wrap for over braid process as set in manufacturing process instructions.

    This is an entry level position with the next advancement to an ASSEMBLER II that can rapidly be obtained when the technician can assemble up to 50% of all PLI products to completion to include Box Couplers, Point to Point Wire Harnesses, Data Bus Couplers Harnesses, Connectors, Terminators, LRU’s, Fiber Optic assemblies, and Space assemblies.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Understand PLI, Customer, and Industry standards and requirements.
    • Communicate clearly with Procurement department and suppliers as needed.
    • Work to meet customer and internal production schedules.
    • Maintain high level of integrity dealing with all departments within the organization.
    • Identify process improvements.
    • Maintain work area to appropriate standards, based on 6S methodologies.
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures described in Employment Handbook.
    • Drive to meet or exceed time goals for each job performed.
    • Learn to utilize PLEX operating system as related to Production and job function.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Knowledge of using measuring equipment, such as scales, calipers, micrometers, crimpers and other hand tools
    • Ability to read, understand and execute both written and verbal instructions such as blueprints and electrical wiring schematics
    • Ability to read Scales, Tape measures, Calipers
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
    • Basic Computer Experience, (Microsoft Office-Excel, Word).
    • Effective communication skills, motivated, self-starter, punctual

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE:

    • Past soldering experience.
    • Past Fiber Optics assembly process.
    • Past Cable Over braid and Over Molding experience.
    • Minimum of 1 year in Aerospace Manufacturing environment or equivalent.
