  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The service engineer is responsible in handling field issues and assist in identifying root cause and corrective actions for warning indicators in medium duty EV vehicles. This is an engineering and technical role working with service technicians in repair issues arising within our customer vehicles. Main area of responsibility will be the High Voltage (HV) Electrical Systems that include High Voltage Batteries, Motor, and all other related modules, HVAC, Power Steering, and Coolant Temperature Controls. This role may also lead to exposure on chassis systems as well in future.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Research, develop and provide service procedures for technicians to successfully repair field vehicles.
    • Extensive electric vehicle diagnostics, repair, issue tracking, and escalation.
    • Write technical reports and develop base line diagnostics when necessary.
    • Ensure that engineering field action repair recommendations can be correctly and repeatedly performed by service technicians.
    • Train technicians in diagnosing and troubleshooting EV systems.
    • Perform systems and acceptance testing on the vehicles when needed.
    • Coordinate with software development team to escalate major field issues.
    • Some domestic travel may be required if necessary.
    • Follow all defined company processes.
    • Innovate and develop new processed tools to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Provide input and expertise into the development of technical service training materials.
    • Involvement in the product development process to ensure the voice of the customer is heard through serviceability requirements in the next gen vehicles.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering/Automotive Technology or similar technical degree required.
    • Minimum 3 years Electric or Hybrid Vehicle Diagnostics and Repair
    • 3+ years’ automotive validation and troubleshooting experience.
    • Understanding or experience with model-based programming is must.
    • Experience in testing and debugging automotive systems software.
    • Understanding of Electric vehicles and energy storage subsystems.
    • Technical and professional skills in job-related area required.
    • Able to work efficiently under high amount of work/stress.
    • Specific knowledge of engineering discipline (e.g., electronics, software, control systems) within job-related area.
    • High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex.
    • Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to job-related area 30th

     PREFERRED SKILLS

    • MATLAB/ Simulink experience.
    • Electrical hardware validation experience.
    • Good understandings on wiring schematics.
    • Familiar with CAN tools like CANAlyzer, Kvaser, PEAK, Vehicle spy.
    • Good experience with Issue tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla.
    • Troubleshooting experience.
    • MS Office Proficient.
