    Job Description

    The Test & Validation engineer is responsible for the validation of whole vehicle functions and its supervisory controls software.  Validation is performed on both the unit and vehicle level to enable the release of new vehicle hardware and embedded software.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with system engineer to create and implement Design Verification Methods, test cases and validation criteria for integration of hardware and software of electric powertrain system. 
    • Work with system engineer to develop test and validation plans to meet functional safety requirements according to ISO26262
    • Perform testing at various levels of integration, document and report test results, provide actions
    • Design and build test benches to validate high voltage and low voltage system
    • Develop tools and methods to automate testing and test data analysis to improve effectiveness and efficiency
    • Perform debugging & failure analysis of complex hardware & software interactions
    • Troubleshoot systems and units using vehicle interface tools (Vector CANalyzer, MotoTune) and lab equipment (such as power supplies, oscilloscope, and multimeter)
    • Track issues and drive root cause identification and resolution with cross-functional teams
    • Coordinate and participate in environmental tests activities
    • Develop diagnostic coverage requirements
    • Perform analytical studies and simulations as necessary
    • Support the release of production level software
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BS or higher in Engineering
    • 2+ years’ experience with automotive and controls software testing and validation
    • Good understanding of electric vehicle systems (battery, powertrain, thermal, vehicle electronics)
    • Experience with operating HV power supplies and measurement tools
    • Experience with Vehicle interface tools (ie CANalyzer, CANape, MotoTune)
    • Knowledge of creating and executing DVP&R
    • Demonstrated experience with authoring professional reports to present test data and results
    • In-depth experience in testing and debugging automotive systems software.
    • Able to design, build and maintain tests for custom hardware
    • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Excellent presentation, communication and leadership skills.

    PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

    • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and deployment
    • Knowledge of FMVSS and SAE standards and practices
    • Experience with fault injection testing methodologies
    • Proficient skills in MATLAB/Simulink
    • Electronics hardware design & validation experience
