    About the Role

    We are seeking a dynamic Photonics Sales Engineer to join our team and drive business growth across the optics, lasers, and photonics markets. This hybrid role blends technical expertise with business development skills—you’ll serve as the bridge between engineering teams and customers, identifying solutions, guiding technical discussions, and closing deals with new and existing clients.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage customer relationships

    • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers—understanding requirements and proposing tailored photonics solutions.

    • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and onsite visits.

    • Collaborate with engineering/R&D teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in alignment with company goals.

    • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities.

    • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.

    • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and technical workshops.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Photonics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field (advanced degree preferred).

    • 2–7 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or business development within photonics, optics, or high-tech instrumentation.

    • Strong understanding of lasers, optical components, imaging systems, sensors, or spectroscopy.

    • Proven ability to build customer relationships and close complex technical sales.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    • Willingness to travel up to 15%-20% for customer visits, trade shows, and onsite support.


    Preferred Skills

    • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and technical quoting tools.

    • Experience working with OEMs, integrators, and research institutions.

    • Track record of exceeding sales quotas in a technical B2B environment.
