Every mission depends on a secure environment. As a Physical Security Specialist at COLSA, you'll help safeguard the facilities that support critical defense operations. Based in Washington, DC , you'll provide technical expertise in the design, construction, inspection, and accreditation of **** Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), ensuring compliance with ICD 705, Intelligence Community directives, and federal physical security standards.
Travel: ~2x a month
- Provide subject matter expertise on ICD 705 requirements throughout the planning, design, construction, and accreditation of SCIFs.
- Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, and construction drawings to ensure compliance with ICD 705 standards and customer security requirements.
- Interpret blueprints and construction documentation to verify appropriate building methods, materials, and security controls.
- Advise project teams on physical security systems, including access control, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and high security locking systems.
- Conduct physical security assessments and facility inspections, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare physical security reports, inspection findings, and supporting documentation for accreditation and compliance activities.
- Support the development and refinement of physical security policies, standards, and best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for facilities located throughout the United States and U.S. territories.
- Apply and interpret Interagency Security Committee (ISC) standards and other applicable federal physical security requirements to ensure facility compliance.
- Collaborate with engineers, construction teams, and government stakeholders to deliver secure facilities that support mission objectives.

- Bachelor's degree in related discipline or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience providing Physical Security support to a military or civilian law enforcement agency, including performing Physical Security inspections, preparing Security Reports, and conducting comprehensive risk assessments to include:
- Experience interpreting blueprints and applying U.S. Government Force Protection standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Experience with general building construction, including electrical wiring, construction methods, HVAC systems, and blueprint interpretation to implement SCIF and Secure Area physical and technical security requirements.
- Working knowledge of ICD 705 requirements for the design, construction, inspection, and accreditation of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).
- Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Top Secret clearance and current eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph, if required by the customer.
