Position Summary
The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients, establishing individualized plans of care, delivering evidence-based treatment, supervising support personnel as appropriate, and documenting progress accurately and efficiently. This therapist will help treat a mixed caseload with an emphasis on general orthopedic and work-related injuries, while also supporting return-to-work goals and communicating with referral sources and other stakeholders when needed.
This position is intended to support both the Kent and Silverdale clinics, and some travel between locations may be required based on patient volume, staffing needs, and clinic operations.
Essential Job Duties
Perform thorough initial evaluations and re-evaluations for orthopedic and work-related conditions.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient presentation, functional goals, job demands, and evidence-based practice.
Provide skilled physical therapy interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, functional training, and patient education.
Progress patients appropriately based on objective findings, tolerance, and return-to-function goals.
Treat patients with a strong focus on restoring function, improving activity tolerance, and facilitating safe return to work.
Collaborate with referring providers, case managers, vocational counselors, employers, and other team members when clinically appropriate to support coordinated care.
Document all evaluations, daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries in a timely, accurate, and defensible manner.
Supervise PTAs and support staff in accordance with Washington State practice standards and clinic expectations.
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and clinic initiatives to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and patient-centered care.
Support the clinic’s culture by demonstrating reliability, teamwork, strong communication, and a positive attitude consistent with PhysioWorks’ core values.
Be open to ongoing training in work rehabilitation, Functional Capacity Evaluations, ergonomic assessments, and other industrial rehabilitation services.
Caseload / Patient Population
This role includes treatment of a diverse outpatient population with emphasis on:
General orthopedics
Work-related injuries
Workers’ compensation cases
Post-surgical rehabilitation
Functional restoration and return-to-work care
Work conditioning and related industrial rehabilitation services
Typical caseload expectations are approximately 10-12 patients per day, with one-hour treatment sessions designed to support quality care and strong clinical reasoning.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
Current Washington State Physical Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain licensure
Strong clinical interest in orthopedics and functional rehabilitation
Interest in work rehabilitation, occupational medicine, and return-to-work programming
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in outpatient orthopedics
Experience with workers’ compensation or industrial rehabilitation
Interest in Functional Capacity Evaluations, ergonomics, and injury prevention

Schedule
Full-time position
Clinic hours are generally Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Scheduling options may include flexible structures such as 4x10s or other agreed-upon full-time arrangements
No routine weekends
No major holidays

Highlighted BenefitsMedical premiums: employer pays 75% of the base medical plan premium for eligible employees working an average of 24+ hours per week; employee pays 25%, with the employee responsible for any additional cost of higher-tier plans.
Simple IRA available beginning the first pay period after the 90th calendar day following employment commencement.
PTO accrual begins on day one, with 3 weeks for team members in years 0-5 and 4 weeks for team members with 6+ years of service.
Paid holidays for eligible full-time team members include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
One paid birthday day off per calendar year for eligible employees regularly scheduled 32+ hours per week.
Continuing education reimbursement may be available after 90 days for approved industry-related courses, with required courses paid in full by the Practice.
