    Job Purpose:

    Deliver exceptional physical therapy care that supports patients’ healing, improved mobility, function, pain management and quality of life using evidence-based physical therapy techniques aligned with IOC policies and procedures.

    Collaborate across IOC clinical operations team to identify, explore and continually improve patient outcomes.

    Duties/ Responsibilities:

    Follow IOC workflows and policies to ensure a safe, clean, and collaborative workplace and excellent patient experience.

    Collaborate with other physical therapy staff to maintain physical therapy treatment rooms and gym (e.g., daily cleaning, stocking supplies, etc.). Regularly inventories supplies, communicating via Teams when supplies are low.

    Greet and room patients.

    Build professional rapport and clearly communicate with patients to understand their needs, guide their treatment and monitor progress. Educate patients on the benefits of physical therapy and how it complements their chiropractic and massage therapy treatments.

    Evaluate and identify patient needs based on physical examination and observation, evaluation of medical history, and test results.

    Develop and deliver individualized plans of care and treatment schedules using physical therapy techniques including manual therapy procedures, strengthening and stretching exercises, ultrasound, and other approved modalities. Ensure plans of care and treatment schedules align with prior authorizations, referral and insurance requirements.

    Outline and monitor progress against clear goals and expected outcomes for each patient. Adapt plans of care and treatment schedules as appropriate based on progress.

    Direct and supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA) in the delivery of patient care. Regularly provide feedback and corrective instruction to ensure PTA is delivering care aligned with IOC workflows, policies and standards of care.

    Ensure accurate and timely completion of electronic health record entries following IOC workflows and policies. Review, approve and co-sign PTA chart notes.

    Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations and ethical standards governing physical therapy.

    Maintain required certification, licensing and compliance requirements. Seek out opportunities for continuous learning aligned with IOC’s standard of care.

    Build strong relationships with referral partners and across the community to support positive flow of new clients. Actively participate in referral-building and marketing activities to increase awareness of IOC and attract new patients.

    Understanding of the neuromusculoskeletal system, injuries and conditions and how to treat them.

    Understanding of the requirements and limitations associated with Medicare/MA, Workers Compensation, Personal Injury (Motor Vehicle, etc.), and Commercial insurance.

    Demonstrated problem-solver.

    Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.

    Education, Experience & Certifications:

    Degree from a CAPTE accredited physical therapist program

    Current Minnesota physical therapy license, in good standing

    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    Work Environment:

    This position requires the ability to move about the office the majority of the day and the physical manipulation of patients’ bodies as well as treatment equipment. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

    This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers as well as gym equipment, ultrasound machines and other modalities.

    Local travel may be required.
