    Help Students Reach Their Potential

    TX-STAR Speech Language Services works alongside school districts across Texas to connect students with specialized educational and therapeutic support. We are currently seeking Physical Therapists for school-based opportunities in Austin and surrounding communities.

    These positions are ideal for clinicians who are dedicated to improving student mobility, promoting independence, and helping children safely participate in classroom routines and other school activities.

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    As a school-based Physical Therapist, you will assess students’ functional needs and provide individualized therapy services that improve physical access to the educational environment.

    In this role, you will:

    • Deliver physical therapy services that support goals outlined in students’ Individualized Education Programs

    • Evaluate gross motor development, balance, coordination, mobility, positioning, and functional performance

    • Design and carry out individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings and educational priorities

    • Help students move safely and effectively throughout classrooms, campuses, and other school environments

    • Recommend adaptive equipment, positioning techniques, environmental modifications, and mobility supports when appropriate

    • Coordinate services with teachers, special education personnel, families, and related-service professionals

    • Measure student progress and update therapy strategies as needs and performance change

    • Complete service logs, evaluation reports, progress updates, and other required records accurately and promptly

    • Attend ARD and IEP meetings and share clinical observations, findings, and recommendations

    • Follow district procedures and applicable professional and special education requirements

    Qualifications for This Position

    • Current and active Texas license to practice Physical Therapy

    • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

    • Understanding of IEP procedures and the delivery of related services in educational settings

    • Ability to independently coordinate assessments, treatment schedules, documentation, and assigned responsibilities

    • Strong ability to collaborate with educators, families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams

    • Effective written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills

    • Previous experience working with pediatric or school-based populations is preferred
