    TX-STAR Speech Language Services partners with school districts throughout Texas to provide specialized support for students with physical, developmental, and functional needs. We are currently seeking Physical Therapists for school-based opportunities in Houston and surrounding communities.

    These positions are ideal for clinicians who are committed to improving student mobility, building independence, and helping children safely access classrooms, campuses, and daily educational activities.

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    As a school-based Physical Therapist, you will evaluate students’ physical and functional needs and provide individualized services that support educational access and participation.

    In this role, you will:

    • Deliver physical therapy services that address goals outlined in students’ Individualized Education Programs

    • Evaluate gross motor development, balance, coordination, mobility, positioning, and functional performance

    • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings and educational priorities

    • Provide services in person or through teletherapy when appropriate for the assignment

    • Collaborate with teachers, families, special education personnel, and related-service providers

    • Recommend adaptive equipment, mobility supports, positioning strategies, and environmental modifications as needed

    • Help students safely navigate classrooms, campuses, and other school-based environments

    • Monitor student performance and revise interventions according to progress and changing needs

    • Complete evaluations, service logs, progress reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time

    • Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and share clinical findings, progress updates, and recommendations

    Qualifications for This Position

    • Current and active Texas Physical Therapy license

    • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program

    • Strong understanding of IEP procedures, related services, and school-based therapy practices

    • Ability to independently manage evaluations, treatment schedules, documentation, and assigned responsibilities

    • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team

    • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management abilities

    • Previous experience working with pediatric or school-based populations is preferred
