Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will be working closely with our licensed Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, provide patient education, and assist in various aspects of the physical therapy process. You will also be recording accurate patient records, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. The ideal candidate works well both independently and within a team, can maintain a positive attitude to encourage patients in recovery, and has existing knowledge of physical therapy guidelines and recommendations. Responsibilities:

Assist Physical Therapists in the treatment of patients with a variety of physical impairments.

Provide direct patient care, including but not limited to: applying therapeutic modalities, administering exercises, and performing assistive techniques.

Educate patients and their families on their condition and treatment plan.

Document patient progress, treatment interventions, and any changes in condition.

Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment.

Contribute to the overall efficiency and smooth operation of the physical therapy department.

Adhere to all applicable professional standards and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or equivalent certification.

Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New York.

Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
