Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Per Diem
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing in-home health team. This is a per diem / PRN position providing pediatric therapy services in patients’ homes throughout Central and South Texas.
Position Overview
As a Pediatric PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver coordinated therapy services for children and their families. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys flexibility, meaningful patient interactions, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Provide non-complex therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation.
Educate patients and caregivers on safe techniques to support progress between visits.
Document treatments accurately and in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
Apply infection control practices and universal precautions during all care activities.
Communicate effectively with the supervising PT, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
Support patient and family psychosocial needs with empathy and professionalism.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate Degree required).
Active PTA license in the state of Texas (or PTLC compact license).
Minimum of 1 year of pediatric or home health experience preferred.
Current CPR certification.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto liability insurance.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing/walking.
Schedule & Compensation
Per diem / PRN position with flexible scheduling.
Compensation: $50 per visit.
