Job Summary
We are seeking a part time Physician Assistant 3 days a week to join our team! As a Physician Assistant, you will be examining patients, collecting patient medical history, and making diagnoses on minor and major issues. You will also be reading diagnostic tests and reports, interpreting data, taking the time with each patient to explain their test results and medical diagnoses, and prescribing therapy or medication. The ideal candidate has an excellent bedside manner, experience charting in a medical environment, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
This position involves providing direct patient care in a busy orthopedic clinic setting
The Orthopedic PA will work collaboratively with a supervising orthopedic surgeon to deliver the high quality of care to patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal issues
Opportunity to assist in surgical procedures
Conduct comprehensive and problem focused histories and physical examinations
Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, MRI, and CT scans
Provide reductions, splinting, wound care, and bed side procedures when indicated
Joint injections, casting, splinting, brace fitting, osteoporosis injections
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all patients interactions, treatments, and procedures according to hospital policy
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Licensed to practice as a PA in California
BLS and DEA Certification required
