The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive neurological care under the supervision of a board-certified neurologist. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, diagnosing and managing neurological conditions, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, developing treatment plans, and educating patients and caregivers.
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and staff without the use of an interpreter.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage new and established neurology patients
Diagnose and treat a wide variety of neurological disorders
Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic testing
Prescribe medications and develop evidence-based treatment plans
Perform approved in-office procedures (training provided as appropriate)
Participate in infusion therapy management, including biologic therapies
Coordinate care with referring physicians and specialists
Complete accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses and treatment plans
Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure exceptional patient care
Qualifications
Required
Current Georgia APRN license
National Nurse Practitioner certification
DEA registration
Current BLS certification
Fluent in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing)
Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
Strong computer and EMR skills
Preferred
Neurology experience
Infusion therapy experience
Botox injection experience
Athenahealth EMR experience
