Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time, Pain Management & PM&R) 📍 Burbank, CA | Premier Pain Management & PM&R Practice
We are a Premier Pain Management and PM&R practice seeking a California-licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our upbeat, dynamic team! Our multidisciplinary approach combines non-pharmacological treatments (PT, psychology, acupuncture), interventional procedures (spinal, joint, nerve injections, neuromodulation, RFA, etc.), and pain medications. 👉 We do not prescribe high-dosage opioids.
This is a part-time role (3 days/week) with the opportunity for full-time in the near future. 💵 Compensation: $68.00 – $100.00/hour (DOE)
Responsibilities
Conduct histories & physical exams related to pain, spine, and musculoskeletal medicine
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic pain conditions
Manage patients in outpatient clinic and occasional inpatient/SNF consults
Order & interpret diagnostic tests and labs
Prescribe medications and initiate non-pharmacological treatments
Educate and counsel patients & families on pain management options
Coordinate care and facilitate referrals as needed
Adhere to safe patient management and prescribing protocols
Collaborate closely with physicians and specialists
Qualifications
Licensed PA or NP in California with clean record
DEA license (or ability to obtain)
Excellent clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
Experience in pain medicine, PM&R, primary care, SNF, or hospital/ER settings
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
Strong patient rapport-building and service mindset
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with diagnosing & treating acute/chronic pain and musculoskeletal conditions
Experience with trigger point and basic joint injections
Knowledge of interventional pain procedures (epidurals, nerve blocks, RFA, neuromodulation, Botox for migraines, etc.)
Understanding of prescribing safety protocols, especially with comorbidities
Familiarity with prior authorization and utilization review guidelines (PPO, Workers Comp, etc.)
Comfort with diagnostic studies (imaging, EMG, lab work, urine drug toxicology)
Willingness to rotate between Burbank clinic and SNF consults in Pasadena & East San Fernando Valley
