    ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

    Our Development Team supports the Physicians Committee's programs and campaigns by managing the fundraising program, which includes individual giving, annual giving, grants, special events, and legacy giving.

    ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

    This is a great opportunity for an individual in an administrative role on a development team or someone wishing to gain fundraising experience. The Development Associate will have a hand in membership communications and handle various administrative functions for the development department. The position will provide exposure to the wide range of Physicians Committee campaigns, issues, and programs. Growth potential includes managing fundraising campaigns and participating on cross-departmental team projects.

    Specific duties include:

    • Assisting in the creation and execution of online messaging to supporters, including writing a quarterly update to donors
    • Follow up with lapsed donors
    • Maintaining state charitable registration files
    • Generating analytics
    • Coordinating our extensive petition program
    • Processing invoices
    • Assisting with our Find a Doctor online directory

    This position will also work closely with our Membership Associate to field inquiries from both members and nonmembers primarily by phone and e-mail, perform data entry, and assist with fundraising mailings.

    This is a full-time position based in Washington, D.C. (Friendship Heights on Metro's Red Line).

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    We are looking for a success-focused person with a strong interest in our mission. If you are detail-oriented, a creative problem-solver, and a multitasker, we want to hear from you. Excellent oral and written communication skills and an interest in a career in fundraising are required. Experience working in a nonprofit setting in an administrative role is a plus, as is experience with HTML, EveryAction, Raiser's Edge or other similar platforms.
