  • Responsibilities

    Advantia currently has a need for a dynamic Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our Health Care team. As a member of the team, the LCSW will work closely with various internal team members and providers. Physically located in Arlington, VA the therapist at times may rotate to other locations within Virginia. Referrals may come from several Advantia practices. The therapist may also provide telemedicine appointments.

    Expectations of the LCSW is to diagnose and treat mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders, including anxiety and depression. Provide individual, group, family, and couples therapy; work with clients to develop strategies to change behavior or cope with difficult situations; and refer clients to other resources or services, such as support groups or other mental health professionals. The LCSW will develop treatment plans with the client, doctors, and other healthcare professionals and may adjust the treatment plan when necessary based on the client’s progress.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide various outpatient mental health services with the goal of patient recovery.
    • Develop service plans and conduct reviews as needed throughout the duration of treatment.
    • Provide mental health assessments, counseling, referrals, and intervention services.
    • Complete and maintain documentation according to federal and state guidelines.
    • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
    • Social Perceptiveness — Being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
    • Speaking — Talking to others to convey information effectively.
    • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
    • Coordination — Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
    • Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
    • Service Orientation — Actively looking for ways to help people.
    • Writing — Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
    • Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
    • Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive clinical & supervisory/ team leader experience, preferable in a physician office.
    • Master's Degree in a mental health-related field of study, such as clinical mental health counseling, psychology, or social work.
    • Experience in a small, fast paced company environment.
    • Licensure in Virginia required.
    • Candidate will be credentialed with third party payers to be completed within the first 90-120 days of hirer.

    Work Schedule

    • Full Time
    • Flexible hours, occasional Saturdays
    • May require evening and weekends
