Piano & Keyboard Teacher | Bach to Rock® Music School — Herndon, VA
Are you a skilled pianist or keyboard player with a passion for teaching? Bach to Rock® Music School in Herndon, VA is looking for an enthusiastic Piano & Keyboard Teacher to join our team of professional musician-educators at our studio in the Worldgate Centre.
At Bach to Rock, piano students don't spend years on scales before they get to play music they love. Our student-first approach means lessons are built around each student's goals — whether that's learning classical repertoire, playing pop songs by ear, mastering chord-based accompaniment, or developing music theory foundations. You'll teach private one-on-one lessons to students of all ages, from young beginners (ages 5+) through adults, in a professional and supportive school environment.
What You'll Do:
Teach private piano and keyboard lessons across all skill levels — beginner through advanced
Draw on a broad range of styles: classical, pop, rock, R&B, jazz, contemporary, and more
Build personalized lessons using Bach to Rock's curriculum framework as your foundation
Track student progress and maintain open communication with parents
Bring energy, patience, and genuine enthusiasm to every lesson
Schedule & Availability:
Weekday afternoons and evenings (approx. 3PM–9PM)
Saturdays (9AM–5PM)
Flexible — we work around your performing and gigging schedule
Compensation — Tiered by Experience (W-2 Hourly):
Tier 1 — Entry/Developing Instructor: $17–$18/hr
Tier 2 — Established Instructor: $18–$20/hr
Tier 3 — Advanced/Specialist Instructor: $20–$22/hr
Tier 4 — Senior/Expert Instructor: $22–$25/hr
Your tier is determined by your education, teaching history, and performance background — with a clear path to grow.
Who We're Looking For:

Prior teaching experience is a plus, but we welcome emerging instructors with the right passion
Comfortable and patient with students of all ages, especially young beginners
Reliable transportation to our Herndon studio
Must pass a background check
