    About the Role:

    This position is responsible for a variety of programming languages such as Python, SQL, C++, and/or Java to write code and automate basic GIS processes.

    You may also use these programming tools for web development and design, software development, and software applications.

    What You Will Be Doing:

    • Develop GIS mapping applications and geoprocessing tools.
    • Understand client needs and design GIS applications in accordance.
    • Analyze end-user issues and provide solutions.
    • Produce detailed documentation of all processes and workflows.
    • Create demos and instruction guides to explain GIS application use to customers and Pickett employees.
    • Use GIS knowledge in order to assist with creative solutions to ongoing projects.
    • Provide maintenance and support of GIS applications and mapping systems.
    • Assist in quality assurance checks on GIS systems. Recommend updates or new techniques when applicable.
    • Utilize ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ESRI Map portal, Civil3D, Google Earth along with other industry related software to complete projects.

     What You Bring:

    • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Programming or other related field. (required)
    • 2+ years of experience with GIS, Python and ArcGIS APIs for Python. (preferred)
    • Experience with GIS related programming languages such as Python, ArcGIS API, HTML5, Java, SQL, etc. (required)
    • Knowledge of spatial analysis methods and geoprocessing tools. (required)
    • Demonstrated proficiency in ESRI software (ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro). (required)
    • A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to our company insurance provider is a condition of initial and continued employment. (required)
    • Ability to work in a safe manner and obey safety regulations at all times.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks daily and weekly.
    • Strong desire to advance your knowledge and keep up to date with upgrades in technology.
    • Capable of communicating technical information both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
    • Some weekend and out of town work may be required.
