    About the Role:

    As a Substation Engineering Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality and cost competitive substation engineering services.

    You will also be involved in business development and company initiatives, which may include establishing business strategies and objectives.

    What You Will Be Doing:

    • Manage and lead engineering activities during proposal, design and construction stages of substation projects
    • Provide project oversight, including managing engineering scope according to technical standards, developing change orders, and maintaining project schedules and budgets
    • Maintain a high level of quality and responsiveness to client requirements in alignment with Pickett’s standards
    • Oversee substation design activities and quality assurance and control
    • Responsible for reviewing project drawings, calculations and specifications
    • Interact regularly with clients, which includes maintaining current relationships and developing new relationships

    What You Bring:

    • BS or MS in Engineering (required)
    • Minimum of 10 years of hands on power delivery engineering and/or 5 years of substation consulting experience (required)
    • Professional engineering licensure (required)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
    • Experience managing staff and projects as a project manager and/or project lead
    • Advanced knowledge in substation physical design at transmission voltage levels
    • Knowledge of substation protection and control design and industry standards
    • Ability to communicate technical matters in an understandable and efficient manner
    • Ability to travel up to 20% and work outside normal business hours
    • Excellent written and communication skills
