Pier 25 Marina, in the heart of Tribeca in New York City, is looking for great dock hands for its summer season. Dock hands will primarily be responsible for assisting customers with the arrival and departure of vessels, operating dinghies, tending to customer requests including charter bookings and sailing school inquiries, and acting as an ambassador for Pier 25. DUTIES Helping marina customers with arrival and departure, by assisting with lines and fenders. Assisting with marina management and the safe dockage of private yachts and vessels Ensuring proper cleaning of boats, lines, covers and other items as needed. Interfacing with marina customers and ensuring their happiness and satisfaction Assisting and supporting special events/activities taking place at the marina. Assisting with administrative tasks and booking/scheduling for the sailing school and charter business. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Nautical line handling skills including ability to tie bowline, half hitch knots, toss and cleat lines. Strong customer service and communication skills required Proficient with technology including point of sale systems, VHF radios, computers. Experience with boat handling and knowledge of nautical terminology a must.
