    Temporary to Hire Position

    SUMMARY

    The overnight hotel steward ensures the immaculate cleanliness of the entire kitchen and provides clean, safe and sanitary conditions through the Food and Beverage outlets.     Pay Rate: $17/hr

    Schedule: 3rd-Shift (10pm - 12am), 8 hours, Some Weekends

    Dress Code: No visible tattoos, No facial hair, Nails Trimmed, And only light jewelry is permitted

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Collects and brings all dirty pots and pans to pot washer.

    · Cleans and polishes broilers and all moving warmers in the kitchen every Monday.

    · Cleans and changes oil on deep fryers as needed.

    · Cleans all drainages and stoves on a daily basis.

    · Cleans all ovens and makes sure all pilots are lit before leaving.

    · Cleans up hood and vent every other day.

    · Cleans all bars on a daily basis.

    · Sweep and mop walk-in refrigerators and hallway by store room daily.

    · Cleans up tables and shelves daily.

    · Cleans and polishes utensil racks every Sunday.

    · Dumps all kitchen garbage and cardboard.

    · Makes sure all trash cans are washed out, and the lined replaced and returned to the kitchen before clocking out every morning.

    · Keeps clean and organize soap room.

    · Power washes trash cans and mats every Sunday.

    · Power washes all moving equipment every first of the month.

    · Power washes patio receiving area every fifteenth of the month.

    · Power washes trash compactor every Monday.

    · Cleans kitchen walls and doors as needed.

    · Polishes all stain steel wall as needed.

    · Reports immediately any equipment damages.

    · Sweeps and mops Steward's and Chef's office.

    · Never use a table cloth or napkin to clean up.

    · Takes all dirty lined to the laundry room.

    · Follows hotel grooming standards and dress standards. (Name tag, hat, clean uniform, safety shoes)

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    · No prior experience or training.

    · Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

    · Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

    · Knowledge of dish washing equipment operation, chemicals and chemical feed equipment

    · A Food Handler’s Card is required upon hire

    · Must be flexible with schedule to include weekends and holidays

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    · Frequently stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

    · Frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.

    · Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

    · Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.

    · Frequently exposed to high, precarious places.

    · Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

    · The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (use of dishwashers).
