    Job Description

    The purpose of this job is to support trading activities by conducting market research and analysis, risk management and executing trades with assistance from senior traders.

    Essential Functions

    • Perform research on generating fundamental product balances for the US and globally; conduct market analysis to identify shortages and logistical constraints
    • Analyze risk and execute trades under supervision of senior trader
    • Engage and provide market intelligence, information and updates for both internal and external risk management activities
    • Build tools to analyze and capture hedging opportunities based on performance objectives and supply/demand models
    • Collaborate with other analysts and work as a team
    • Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
    • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
    • Complete other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in an area of specialty (quantitative subject, e.g., finance, economics, mathematics, engineering or physical science) required
    • Minimum five years’ experience in the field and/or part of a front desk analytics team required
    • Minimum three years’ experience in commodity or derivatives industries required

    Specialized Knowledge

    • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required; advanced skills preferred
    • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field of energy trading and research required
    • Knowledge of energy trading markets for gasoline, diesel and bio diesel for financial and physical contracts required

    Travel
