    Job Description

    The purpose of this job is to support Safety and Security company-wide; Safety & Security Department by developing and implementing safety programs, emergency response plans and business continuity for the company.

    1. Develop and implement emergency response plans, procedures, and protocols to ensure the companies readiness for various types of emergencies and disasters
    2. Identifies, reviews, and implements modifications to response plans, policies, and procedures in the preparation of a comprehensive response to a broad array of natural and manmade disasters and emergency situations affecting operations
    3. Communicates and coordinates emergency procedures; maintains personnel and emergency resource materials information; coordinates operational drills in preparation for emergency situations; responds to emergencies and coordinates resources according to plans
    4. Develop and implement safety programs in accordance with OSHA regulations that support Pilots sales and support center (SSC) team members
    5. Assist in management of Pilots corporate emergency communication tools and processes
    6. Assess daily weather status and identify viable threats; communicate threats to the company’s management and assist in emergency calls’ tracking/follow up/reporting
    7. Liaise with various law enforcement agencies (local, state, federal) to maintain local intelligence
    8. Investigate and formulate responses to governmental citations or inquiries
    9. Develop weekly/monthly safety message for the sales and support center including safety awareness, current incident reports, and industry best practices
    10. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
    11. Complete other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, emergency management / safety / risk / business continuity field of study preferred, or a minimum of three years’ experience in emergency management
    • OSHA 30 Certification (required)
    • Skill in oral and written communications, policies and procedures
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills particular excel and powerpoint
    • Knowledge and experience with governmental / regulatory agency inquiries and investigations (OSHA, DoH, DoE, etc)
    • Understanding of the emergency preparedness and disaster response framework: Mitigation, Preparedness, Protection, Response and Recovery
    • Skill in organizing emergency management exercises to include but not limited to tabletops, fire drill.
    • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of customers, levels of management and varying agencies
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
    • Strong investigative, data mining and report writing skills
    • Highly organized with attention to detail
    • Ability to take initiative; work independently as well as on a team

    Additional Information

    • General office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of time
    • Flexibility in work schedule; Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Support the Safety and Security team on-call rotation
    • Travel required less than 10%
