Job Description

The purpose of the job is to identify, analyze and manage the critical data of the organization to interface and assist business partners across the entire organization, and to protect and promote data assets through data governance and data stewardship.

1.      Protect and promote all data assets of Pilot

2.      Serve as the primary point of contact between disparate teams within the organization; assisting internal business partners with identifying key systems and business processes using analytical skills and communication to improve processes and data quality

3.      Provide support to the data team(s) in the development of new data assets and the enhancement of existing data assets; facilitate the implementation of efficiencies within a business area's processes including data quality

4.      Perform exploratory data analysis, design solutions, document findings, and communicate information and results to business partners and leadership in a concise and repeatable manner

5.      Document appropriate data use policies and procedures in partnership with the organization’s privacy and security officers

6.      Act as a subject matter expert to the organization’s data quality team

7.      Support all users as they learn data processes

8.      Document and maintain risk assessment with DGC

9.      Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data analytical and data quality tools

10.   Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

11.   Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from a business analytics, statistics, computer science or information management required

·        Minimum 8 years’ experience using query languages within relational database management systems (RDBMS) required. 

·        Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in a business-facing role required

·        Understanding of data modeling and data extract, transform and load (ETL) processes required

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience implementing data governance and mastering data preferred

·        Experience with data quality teams

·        Capability to read data models and interact with data architects

·        A passion for helping the organization use data

·        Experience with Agile methods

Additional Information

• General office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of time
• Able to work evenings, weekends and odd hours as needed
• Overnight travel less than 5%
