    POSITION SUMMARY

    Greets club members in a friendly and professional manner. Takes all orders, beverage, appetizer, entrée, and dessert, in an accurate and efficient manner. Delivers all orders to the appropriate club member or visitor. Opens tickets under the correct club member name/account number and processes and balances all tickets according to all club rules and procedures. Follow all customer service rules and guidelines. Follows the Club’s dress and grooming policy.

    GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

    Knowledge Requirements

    Minimum Education/Certification:

    High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Courses in food service methods would be helpful.

    Required Knowledge:

    Must have knowledge of serving techniques and protocol. Knowledge of the proper table etiquette and setting arrangements is necessary. Must have knowledge of state alcohol laws, RASP (Responsible Alcohol Service) and FAB (Fake, Altered and Borrowed ID specifics).

    Preferred Knowledge:

    Customer service experience in a Food and Beverage industry environment. Knowledge of all of the required steps to deliver exemplary customer service is strongly preferred.

    Experience Requirements

    Required Experience:

    Must have previous experience in a customer service position or in a position dealing with customer communication.

    Preferred Experience:

    Previous Server experience in a professional environment is strongly desired.

    Skills Requirements

    Required Skills:

    Knowledge of ClubTec or other point of sale system. Strong communication skills are essential. Must be organized and have a good memory. Should be methodical and have a strategy for taking and delivering orders in a timely and accurate manner. Must have the ability to listen to criticism and know how to deal with customers who are hard to get along with.

    Preferred Skills:

    Additional skills as line cook, dishwasher or specialty cook would be helpful.

    Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements

    Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to walk while carrying heavy trays of food and dishes. May be required to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally or lift heavy objects. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position as scheduled. May be required to stand for long periods of time.

    Mental Demands

    Learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times in the club. Must be able to multi-task waiting on more than one club member at a time as well as accurately prepare beverage and food tickets. Must be able to remember which club member ordered which drink or meal. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service to all customers. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments when necessary. Must be able to communicate judgment decisions to club members and co-workers when appropriate.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and BASIC DUTIES

    Maintains cleanliness of eating areas in compliance with Health & Safety, OSHA, and EPA.

    Greets customers in a friendly but professional manner.

    Opens member tickets under the proper name/number. Accurately process all charges and cash transactions. Follows company procedures for processing transactions and appropriately balancing those transactions.

    Takes orders from customers to include, beverage, appetizer, entrée, and dessert. Follows the 12 Steps of Service as outlined in the “Pine Island Server Manual”.

    Studies carefully and adheres to all sections of the Pine Island Server Training Manual; Dress Code, Customer Service, Lines of Communication, Point of Sale Use, Alcohol Awareness, Sanitation and Safety. The manual has been prepared to help assure that you deliver exemplary customer service to club members as well as guide you towards success.

    Understands and upholds the Griffin Brothers Companies mission statement. Must have knowledge of and comply with the “Employee Policy Handbook and Company Procedures”.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures and applicable laws. Maintains highest level of grooming, hygiene, and acceptable uniform appearance (including name tag worn at all times on Company premises).

    Stays abreast of the Company’s products and services; recognizes opportunities to recommend additions/enhancements to Company products and services.

    Performs other functions in the kitchen area as needed.

    Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
