SUMMARY:
Responsible for the completion and consolidation of annual budgets, variance analysis, and monitoring of spending for Pinelake Church.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of Pinelake Church;
- Assists other staff members, when needed, to support teamwork and contribute to the successful completion of their objectives and strategies; and,
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of Pinelake Church (Colossians 3:23-24).
SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop best practices for the preparation of annual budgets;
- Provide advice and technical assistance with budget preparation;
- Assure budgets are completed by prescribed deadlines;
- Work with ministries to develop budgets based on goals communicated by senior leadership;
- Review operating budgets to analyze trends affecting budget needs;
- Develop tools to analyze budget variances;
- Provide monthly budget variance explanations in conjunction with ministries;
- Maintain financial dashboards;
- Communicate with ministries their quarterly financial results;
- Summarize budgets and submit recommendations for the approval or disapproval of funds requests;
- Serve as an advocate between Pinelake and third-party suppliers of accounting and budgeting tools;
- Administrate the corporate credit card program;
- Special projects as needed; and,
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Must be able to keep all employee information confidential;
- Must love working with employees and applicants while maintaining a professional demeanor;
- Must have good organizational skills and give strong attention to details;
- Must have good customer service skills;
- Must be able to communicate in an effective, positive manner, both in person and over the phone;
- Proficient in Office 365; and,
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
College degree in accounting, finance or business administration with 5-7 years of experience developing budgets and/or accounting systems.
