    Job Description

    The Simulation Engineer is responsible for guiding the design and development of core battery systems and components. The individual will be responsible for analyzing key mechanical and thermal structures, in-house, as well as guide any analysis outsourced to 3rd party suppliers. This individual will work closely with our prototype, production, and manufacturing engineering teams, as well key suppliers and the validation/testing teams.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    •           Guide design of key mechanical and thermal components and systems using lessons learned & past experience.

    •           Confirm design robustness of key mechanical and thermal components and systems via CAE/FEA/CFD tools.

    •           Perform “Digital Validation” of battery system and components to ensure design robustness and to identify improvement areas.

    •           Works closely with the Validation team to ensure DVP&Rs properly test the critical physical properties of the components and systems.

    •           Participates in DRBTRs to ensure results from physical validation are fed back into virtual analysis, to improve accuracy & value of future results.

    •           Contribute to development of mechanical system DFMEAs.

    •           Evaluates supplier information, specifications, and validation data to ensure selection of the proper suppliers.

    •           Troubleshooting any issues with battery systems.

    •           Expands professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars and conferences, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.

    •           Contributes to team growth by completing projects in a timely manner.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum Bachelor’s of Science and/or Engineering in Mechanical/Electrical/Systems Engineering or equivalent degree.

    •           ≥5 years of experience in automotive or similar product analysis.

    •           Adept in data processing and statistical analysis.

    •           Effective communicator, capable of concisely presenting highly technical test data to internal and external customers, as well as effectively communicating with suppliers.

    •           Educated on common automotive & industry standards.

    •           Familiar with the product design process.

    •           Self-motivated problem solver; pays attention to the details
