    Duties and Responsibilities
    The purpose of this position is to provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects Quality Assurance at the Savannah River Site (SRS). This support is in the form of technical expertise in the areas of quality control and quality assurance with a specific focus in the Civil discipline to include both soils and concrete.at an NQA-1 level.
    Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working at SRS. The individual shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.

    • Extensive knowledge of quality and safety requirements for the nuclear industry and general industrial practices.
    • Performance of document reviews to include design documents, plans, procedures, submittals, and other documents in support of a large construction project.
    • Performance of inspection planning and preparation of inspection reports.
    • Performance of field inspections in support of a large construction project.
    • Performance of oversight on soils and concrete testing activities by an Independent Testing Laboratory subcontractor.
    • General QA/QC activities as required.
    • Foster a work environment that promotes safety, quality, openness, trust, communication, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

    Education:
    HS diploma or GED is required.
    Preferred - Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science discipline.
    (4 additional years of related experience will be required in the absence of a Bachelor's degree)

    Work Hours:
    •A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules, including 5/8s (8hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Workday has a 30-minute lunch. Work hours in excess of forty hours a week may be required, as authorized by SRNS management.

    Area Security Access:
    •Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties while clearance request is processing. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (“Q”) within the past two years are preferred.

    Experience/Skills:

    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a QA/QC function, to include a minimum of 6 years civil experience in soils and concrete.
    • Prior certification as a civil inspector.
    • Good oral and written communication skills Team Player Good computer skills
