    Who They Are:

    Our client is a privately held real estate management and investment company founded in 1967 and headquartered in San Francisco. They have been growing and are looking to add an Auditor to their team.

    In this role, you will perform a variety of auditing duties for multiple locations to ensure the control and protection (internal control measures to protect our facilities assets such as cash, stock, etc. against misuse and misappropriation) and manage information.

     

    Top Requirements:

    • Operational audit experience
    • Industry experience: Car Rental auditor, Retail Auditor, Hotel auditor
    • Must be ok with travel within Bay area clusters (SSF, Napa, Fairfield sites); 2 days in the office in SF
    • Travel: 1x a month to S. CA, 1x a quarter to the East Coast (overnight)

     

    What you’ll do:

    • Responsible for auditing Unit, File, Maintenance, and Financial aspects of our storage facilities.
    • Scrutinizes rental agreements and checks for accuracy and completeness and tallies rental agreement with physical inventory.
    • Keeps accurate accounts of cash, checks, and credit transactions.
    • Audits cash collections and ensures collections match tenants and dates. 
    • Handles confidential information, including tenant records, with a high degree of integrity.
    • Reviews auction files
    • Monitors discounts and concessions made to tenants or prospective tenants.
    • Verifies charges and rates; verifies register has appropriate starting cash.
    • Manages daily paperwork including occupancy report, tenant list, cash drawer summary, balance sheet, account summary, and files.
    • Performs and documents security walks on a regular basis.
    • Handles all internal control items as company policies and procedures dictate.
    • Closing and balancing all tenant accounts.
    • Counting and balancing cash and credit card receipts.
    • Running a trial balance report.
    • Investigating or analyzing out-of-balance situations.
    • Adjusting or corrections to accounts as needed.

     

    What we’re looking for:

    • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (verbal and written) with tenants, clients, vendors, suppliers, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
    • Ability to provide legible communication.
    • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
    • Highly Proficient with MS-Excel and Word.
    • Experience in the same and/or similar position in a hotel/resort/retail setting.
