    They are a prominent biotechnology company that specializes in cancer therapeutics. We are currently looking for a Payroll and Stock Manager to join their accounting and finance team. Everyone on the team is supportive and works together to make great things happen. The company has a culture of transparency and curiosity. Although the leadership here is phenomenally intelligent and experienced, they’re also down to earth and want to hear the team’s opinions, supporting the collaborative environment.

    This role is currently remote but once the workplace opens back up, they will offer the flexibility to work home a couple of days a week

     

    About the Role:

    This position will be responsible for processing and administering the US payroll and the equity/stock compensation plans (through a third-party vendor), and preparing the necessary journal entries, monthly reconciliations, monthly/quarterly reports, and other reports/analyses pertaining to payroll and stock compensation.

     

    What You’ll Do:

    Stock Plan Administration:

    • Maintain equity (Stock Incentive) database and always ensure accuracy.
    • Prepare and process stock option grants, cancellations and exercises on a timely basis for all employees and other option and equity holders.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly equity reconciliations (i.e., roll forward of grants, cancellations, and exercises.)
    • Generate reports from Equity Edge (database) to support SEC reporting and other management reporting.
    • Prepare year-end Tax Statements.
    • Maintain trading blackout periods, pre-clearance, and tracking of insider trading restrictions.
    • Assist with the processing, tracking, and reporting of 10b5-1 Plans and Section 16 transactions/reporting.
    • Interact with transfer agent to ensure that trades are settled timely and reconcile DWAC transactions.
    • Manage/administer Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

     

    Payroll Administration:

    • Working with our PEO, prepare and process US payroll for all employees, including validation of all inputs to employee payroll files.
    • Maintain accurate record keeping of payroll transaction details and produce periodic payroll reports.
    • Input payroll journal entry to General Ledger and ensure proper coding of payroll expenses by department.
    • Prepare all accrued bonus, ESPP, and other accrued payroll journal entries as appropriate and prepare related account reconciliations.
    • Prepare schedules to support workers compensation audits, 401K/Form 5500 reviews and other surveys/reports requiring employee payroll data.
    • Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures and SOX controls for payroll and stock administration areas and assist with external audits by providing supporting records and documentation.
    • Assist with other ad-hoc HRIS projects and requests on an as needed basis.
