About the Role:
Our client is a prominent tech company located in San Francisco. They are seeking a Senior Sales Commissions Analyst who can support them after their fast-paced, rapid growth (nearly doubled in the last year). As the Senior Sales Commissions Analyst, you will be expected to lead and manage all processes regarding sales compensation. Further, you will handle the majority of commissions, accruals, and payouts. This is the first Sr. Sales Commissions Analyst role available with this company, so you must have a strong commissions background since you will be the primary commissions contact/employee.
In order to succeed in this role, you should have a strong technical background and experience in a high-growth company. This role is at a rapidly expanding company, but their supportive, collaborative, fun culture has remained the same. The Assistant Controller who you will report to is known to be an empathetic mentor and friend. This is a hybrid role that requires you to work on-site 3 days a week (either in Denver or San Francisco); the organization firmly believes this helps to maintain their company culture and co-worker synergy.
What you’ll do:
Develop, improve, and lead company-wide initiatives related to sales commission plans, accruals/payout calculations, and audits
Prepare and calculate monthly commissions payout across the organization, including standard commissions processes and analyses to identify potential bonus recipients
Distribute and track completeness of compensation plan sign-off from sales personnel to ensure compliance with company policies
Support the Accounting team in timely and accurate preparation of monthly accruals and reconciliations for commissions accounting and payroll accounting
Serve as the primary point of contact for any commissions related questions throughout the organization
Document approvals and other support materials for any adjustment that will result in changes to pay and assist in drafting policies and procedures around adjustments
Present commission plans to auditors in regards to ASC 340 topics
Utilize CaptivateIQ and other software in order to improve communication between all internal accounting departments
Manage all offboarding related payments (eg. distribute final paychecks ON TIME)
Drive process and systems improvements related to commissions process; includes communicating and working cross-departmentally to get new perspectives
What we’re looking for:
4-6 years of finance and accounting experience in a high-growth tech company (SaaS/Cloud model preferred), including a minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a commissions administrator
BS/BA in accounting, finance, economics, or other quantitative fields preferred
2-3 years of experience with CaptivateIQ is preferred
Familiar with ASC 340-40
Very strong Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with CRM/HRIS systems like Salesforce and Bamboo is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic setting while maintaining accuracy and delivering against deadlines
Motivated to work cross-functionally in a role which supports multiple business partners
