    About the Role:

    As the Controller, you will play a key role in analyzing trends, ensuring the integrity of data, managing the financial needs of the company to scale efficiently and effectively, and much more! We are looking for someone who is passionate, detail-oriented, organized, and works well both independently and with stakeholders to join our fast-growing team. You will also need to build many of the processes and reporting from scratch since we are a startup, and this is the first accounting hire.

     

    Top Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience
    • Experience scaling and growing startups
    • CPA is a must

     

    What you’ll do:

    • Work alongside our leadership team as a key member of our finance team
    • Manage and control all aspects of accounting operations for the Company, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, revenue recognition, and various special analyses
    • Ensures compliance with local, state & federal government reporting requirements & tax filings
    • Facilitates, completes, and coordinates monthly close procedures including monthly account reconciliations and analysis, accrual calculations, CAPEX analysis, intercompany reconciliation, and the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries
    • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and filings in compliance with GAAP
    • Oversee the development of financial accounting systems required to maintain reporting requirements
    • Maintain an organized filing system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts
    • Document system of accounting policies and operations

     

    What we’re looking for:

    • 10+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and CPA required
    • Growth stage startup experience and people management experience required
    • Fintech or financial institution accounting experience preferred but not required
    • Organized and able to efficiently prioritize, multi-task, and adapt in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment; ability to meet deadlines
    • Detail-oriented, but capable of seeing the big picture
    • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Avalara, Bill.com or Expensify, etc.
