    Pinpoint Talent has an immediate hybrid work opportunity (2 to 3 days per week in-office,) for a Vice President and Controller.


    As our client’s VP / Controller, you’ll lead critical finance operations, oversee accounting functions, and provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and success.

     

    ~ Top Requirements of the Vice President, Controller ~

    • Proficiency in managing directors and leading teams.
    • Experience in the biotech/pharma/medical device sector is advantageous, though a diverse industry background will be considered.
    • CPA certification and prior public accounting experience are mandatory.

     

    ~ What You'll Do as a Vice President, Controller ~

    • Lead growth initiatives and develop finance operations, processes, and systems
    • Manage general accounting functions, including close processes, accounts payable, payroll, and equity plan administration
    • Oversee reporting of internal and external financial statements, SEC filings, proxy statements, and offering documents
    • Manage SOX 404 compliance program and consultants
    • Develop technical accounting memos and ensure US GAAP compliance
    • Prepare materials for Board of Directors and Audit Committee meetings
    • Collaborate with operational teams for cross-functional efficiencies and accrual accuracy
    • Ensure integrity of financial systems, including interfaces with other systems
    • Maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
    • Manage relationships with external auditors and SOX internal auditors
    • Proactively implement process improvements and policy changes
    • Provide cross-functional support for special projects and financial analyses
    • Coach, mentor, and develop teams

     

    ~ What You’ll Bring to the Vice President, Controller ~

    • CPA and B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required
    • 15+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a public company
    • 5+ years of Big 4 audit experience required; preference for biotech/life sciences and manufacturing experience
    • 7+ years of experience leading people managers and providing mentoring and coaching
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley control structures
    • Proficient in managing external service providers within budgets
    • Collaborative approach to dealing with business issues and articulating technical matters
    • Demonstrated emotional maturity and ability to facilitate change
    • Detail-oriented with effective delegation skills
    • Possesses a sense of urgency and initiative in problem-solving
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with decision-making influence
    • Results-oriented with a strong drive for success
    • Demonstrated change leadership and proactive problem-solving abilities
