Top Requirements of the Accounts Payable Specialist:?
Experience within the construction industry is preferred but not required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable
Proficient in using Microsoft productivity software, including Excel and Word
Effective corporate communication skills, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines
What You’ll Do as an Accounts Payable Specialist:
Perform Accounts Payable coding
Process high volume A/P invoices related to job costing, inventory purchasing, utilities, consultants, etc.
Monitor vendor payment agreements for discount opportunities to reduce invoice amounts.
Track and apply credits to vendor payments.
Reconcile payable reports monthly to ensure accuracy of payments.
Sort and distribute invoices for coding or payment approval.
Investigate and resolve issues related to invoice and purchase order processing.
Prepare batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
Assist with Accounts Payable month-end tasks.
Expertise you'll bring to the Accounts Payable Specialist role:
Minimum 2+ years experience with processing high volume accounts payable invoices through the check run.
Preferred Construction or Manufacturing industry experience
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
Experienced processing accounts payable using mid-tier ERP software.
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational ability
Great communicator
Great at building rapport with vendors, and external/internal customers
