Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position that works on average 35-40 hours a week. Overtime may be required. This employee will work a variable schedule to include nights, weekends, and split shifts. The hours are dependent on the needs of the individuals being served supporting their employment opportunities.
Summary:
The key function of the Job Developer is to cultivate relationships with area employers to create employment opportunities for job seekers and support them in their roles for long term placement success.

Education/Talent Requirements:
• Associate degree in psychology, public administration, human services, marketing, or other related degree preferred.
• A valid Michigan Driver’s license, and a good driving record.
• This person must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with persons being served and with other personnel.
• Able to communicate effectively with all customers including, natural supports, participants, employers, and co-workers.
• Preferred qualifications include experience or advanced education in marketing, sales, business, or rehabilitation. Minimum of six months experience training, customer service, employment training program or other community-based rehabilitation program.
• Completion of training relevant to rehabilitation and/or training necessary to be compliant with Medicaid guidelines and mental Health contracts.
Travel:
Up to 50% Company vehicle is not supplied. Personal vehicle is required.
This travel may include use of your own personal vehicle or company vehicle, when available. This position drives employment sites to provide services within Muskegon and Ottawa County. Out of town travel may also be required for trainings and seminars, which may include overnight stays.
Work Environment: This position works in close proximity to people. While most of the working time is spent indoors in a residential environment or office, employees in this position may work outdoors in all seasons for short periods of time, e.g., assisting a resident into a vehicle, taking a resident on an outing, snow removal, etc.
Physical Demands of the Job :
Light work. No more than 20 pounds with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities. If someone can do light work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary work, unless there are additional limiting factors such as loss of fine dexterity or inability to sit for long periods of time.
