Pipe Superintendent – Heavy Civil/Sitework (South Atlanta, GA)
Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for underground utility operations on heavy civil and turnkey site development projects. This role oversees foremen and field crews responsible for storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water system installation, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and alignment with contract documents.
The Pipe Superintendent plays a critical role in execution planning, production management, cost awareness, and coordination with Project Management to deliver projects successfully and in accordance with drawings, specifications, and jurisdictional requirements.

What You'll Do
- Supervise and direct pipe foremen and field personnel on active job sites
- Lead installation of storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water systems
- Ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, quality control requirements, and applicable codes
- Coordinate trenching, bedding, pipe placement, backfill, compaction, and utility testing
- Support project startup planning with Project Management
- Provide input on scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation
- Maintain alignment with project budgets and communicate potential changes before incurring additional cost
- Assist in preparing and updating progress schedules
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractor support as required
- Oversee punch list completion and warranty-related activities
- Promote safety compliance, including excavation and trench protection standards
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, engineers, inspectors, and field teams
- Support use of company systems and technology for documentation and reporting
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of heavy civil construction field supervision experience
- Strong background in underground utilities, including storm, sewer, and water systems
- Proven experience leading crews on site development projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of trenching methods, excavation safety, and utility installation practices
- Experience working within structured project schedules and cost controls
- Strong leadership, planning, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment
- OSHA certifications preferred (30-Hour, Excavation Competent Person, Confined Space)
- First Aid/CPR preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
