Pipe Test Operator
Openings: 2 Positions Available Shift: 2nd Shift Pay Rate: $19.00/hour + $1.00 Shift Premium = $20.00/hour
Position Summary
We are currently seeking dependable and detail-oriented Pipe Test Operators for 2nd shift. In this role, you will perform pressurized gas testing on welded pipe assemblies to identify leaks and ensure products meet quality and safety standards. This position is ideal for individuals who are safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and able to follow procedures with precision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform pressure testing using Nitrogen/Hydrogen gas to detect leaks in welded pipe joints.
Set up and operate testing equipment, including gaskets, flanges, gauges, couplings, rubber seals, nuts, and bolts.
Conduct pressure testing according to established work instructions and quality standards.
Identify, document, and report weld defects, leaks, and other quality concerns.
Maintain accurate test records, pressure logs, and inspection documentation.
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and requirements.
Properly wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.
Read, understand, and follow written instructions and procedures without deviation.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, both verbally and in writing.
Assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior pipe testing or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed work instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift.
Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and fine manipulation.
Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and testing systems.
Ability to lift and carry:
Up to 10 lbs. continuously
10–20 lbs. frequently
Up to 50 lbs. occasionally
Must possess adequate vision, including close vision, distance vision, color recognition, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
