MAVRX, LLC is seeking an early-career Pipeline Design Engineer in Training (EIT) to support pipeline design within our Land Survey Division, which serves interstate oil and gas transmission operators with preliminary and as-built pipeline survey and a growing in-house design capability. Working under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer, this fully remote role offers direct exposure to the full project lifecycle — from geotechnical location designation and HDD/bore design to drafting and project research — and a clear path toward PE licensure.
Responsibilities
Support geotechnical location designation for pipeline alignments, crossings, and bore/HDD locations
Assist in HDD and conventional bore design, including profile development, entry/exit geometry, and feasibility review
Produce design drafting and exhibits in support of survey and engineering deliverables
Conduct project research, including right-of-way, permitting, regulatory, environmental, and existing-utility data gathering
Research permit requirements and prepare permit drawings for submittal to federal, state, and local municipalities for approval
Coordinate with survey crews, project managers, and clients to translate field data into design products
Support QA/QC of design deliverables under PE supervision and maintain documentation standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an adjacent engineering discipline (degree-equivalent experience considered)
EIT certification, or eligibility to obtain (passed or eligible to sit for the FE exam)
0–4 years of relevant engineering experience
Proficiency with CAD software (Civil 3D / AutoCAD or equivalent)
Strong technical writing, organization, and attention to detail
Commitment to pursuing PE licensure
Reliable remote office setup, including a stable high-speed internet connection
Preferred Qualifications
Pipeline design experience
Exposure to HDD/bore design, geotechnical investigation, or crossing design
Familiarity with oil and gas transmission projects and pipeline regulatory frameworks
Compensation & Benefits (Colorado Disclosure)
Hourly pay: $34.00 – $45.00 per hour
Overtime eligible in accordance with applicable law
