Pipette.com is looking for a local creative and technical web designer/ developer to join our marketing team! Pipette.com is a San Diego Life Science E-commerce distributor and Pipette Calibration service provider that works with Fortune 500, thriving startups and growing companies developing new technologies in the Sciences industry... and we could sure use your help.

Responsible to assist the E-commerce Manager, you will be an integral part of the team and help us manage our successful online business.

We are seeking a hardworking, team player that can bring fresh ideas and expertly implement them!

What you’ll be doing:

• Creating fresh design assets and web pages on Pipette.com
• Building online campaigns
• Developing new web site features and functions
• Supporting web site maintenance
• Participating in web site testing
• Using your design and UX experience to create new content that is on brand
• Managing web projects
• Providing analytics and tracking
• Collaborating with marketing team

What you’re skilled at:

• Have a creative & diverse portfolio
• Strong web design experience (wireframing and information architecture)
• A working understanding of user experience and a great aesthetic
• Miva e-commerce platform Experience is a big plus, or also
  • Magento
  • Big Commerce
• High quality web design talent

Some technical stuff you know:

• Wire-framing and Mock-up tools (Adobe XD)
• Web graphics design (Photoshop, in design)
• UX/UI design and implementation (dream weaver)
• Fundamental understanding of and experience in html/html5, css, JavaScript, jquery
• SQL/MySQL - a plus
• ecommerce or web platform (WordPress, Magento, Demandware, Miva)
• Familiar with Bootstrap, PHP & Symfony
• Experience with a scrum release and QA process
• B2C web design a plus
• Portfolio includes well designed and user friendly websites with excellent navigation structure
• Email and mobile design (Responsive)
• Understanding of SEO principles
• Expertise in UX/UI principles
• Design and/or optimize graphics and visuals for websites while ensuring they are in line with branding, as well as best SEO practices
• Information architecture

Education:

• Degree in graphic design, web design or web development

Experience:

• 2 – 4 years of working experience
