Staff Accountant
We are a fast growing, dynamic family-owned business headquartered in Middletown, Ohio. We are seeking a talented individual who is interested in growing their skills and increasing the scope of their responsibilities over the next five years. The successful candidate will have had progressive growth in an accounting function with desire to do more. The Staff Accountant will work with the CFO and Corporate Controller on a variety of accounting and financial analysis duties and projects for the headquarters with full responsibility for two remote locations. Recurring duties will include month end close responsibilities, account reconciliations and decision support and analysis for two facilities. The role will also support the company’s initiative in developing and deploying a business intelligence system and work with the CFO and Corporate Controller on key business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Analyze current and past financial data and performance to make recommendations on profit enhancement.
- Consistently analyze financial information based on both routine and ad-hoc reports.
- Communicate financial insights suggesting business issues to management.
- Month end close for two locations (Middletown, OH and Huntington, WV)
- Balance sheet account reconciliations for above locations
- Analysis and decision support for general managers and plant managers
- Combined role of either leading or supporting others in company initiatives including accounting automation
- Assist Corporate Controller on establishing accounting policies and procedures.
- Consolidating plant results and support CFO with analysis on revenue, margin, and spending
- Compile KPIs (key performance indicators) with trend analysis and visualization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance or equivalent experience
- 4 years progressive experience in Accounting.
- 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
