    We are seeking a Power Resources Data Analyst who has experience in the energy industry with an electric utility, CCA, power marketer, energy portfolio manager, or regulatory entity and with knowledge of CAISO or similar energy market.

    You will leverage your proficiency in data analytics and building dashboards to learn about short- and long-term energy procurement, this role will provide support to experienced transactors, contract managers and analysts and will develop and own new data processes.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Create dashboards and portfolio visualizations across energy, Renewable Energy Credit (REC) and Resource Adequacy (RA) positions.
    • Ingest data from a variety of formats including CSV, JSON, and EXCEL files.
    • Special focus on supporting short- and long-term energy analytics, with emphasis on creating, maintaining, and utilizing Google Bigquery databases.
    • Contribute to furthering our long-term resource valuation process and software and perform Request for Offer (RFO) and ad hoc valuations.
    • Support contract management through the building out of generation monitoring infrastructure in coordination with our Scheduling Coordinator.
    • Collaborate with Finance, Technology/Data Analytics and Local Development teams.
    • Work with consultants to ensure effective working relationships.
    • Identify ways to improve internal processes.
    • Other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree with minimum 3 years of relevant work experience OR relevant Associate’s degree with 4 years of relevant work experience, or High School diploma with equivalent to 5 years of relevant work experience. Relevant experience includes experience within the energy industry with an electric utility, CCA, power marketer, energy portfolio manager, or regulatory entity.
    • Ability to build dashboards and data visualization, using software such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.
    • Ability to code and analyze data using VBA, Python and SQL.
    • Experience in querying relational databases using SQL.
    • Strong quantitative modeling and technical skills.
    • Familiarity with the California energy environment, including knowledge of the CAISO energy markets, and resource (battery, solar and wind) optimization.
    • Ability to work independently on projects with minimum supervision.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • High proficiency in basic software programs, including Microsoft Office applications.

    Compensation and Benefits

    The salary range for this position is $113,620 - $146,000. The exact compensation package offered will be dependent on candidate experience.
