The Opportunity:
Will provide a safe and secure workplace for all people on property while protecting Mattel’s assets/interests. Perform daily duties that assists warehouse production.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Enforce Mattel Global Security Department Best Practices and adhere to US Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program recommendations
- Respond to all emergencies and take appropriate action
- Protect the Distribution Center from theft, vandalism, fire and/or unauthorized access
- Perform administrative data entry duties for inbound and outbound tractor trailers or vehicles
- Screen people entering/exiting through the employee entrance/exit areas to ensure authorized entry
- Report security/safety incidents to Shift Supervisors or the Site Supervisor to ensure proper documentation and follow-up
- Drive a Mattel fleet vehicle or golf cart throughout the Mattel distribution center and satellite warehouse location (where applicable) to deter any type of activity that would negatively impact the business
- Provide a high level of customer service to all Mattel employees, vendors, and visitors on property
- Additional responsibilities may be requested based on business needs at your location
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections to maintain safety standards
- Learn and understand distribution center policies and procedures
- Understand and perform all duties of the security officer role
What We're Looking For:
- One or more years of experience working as a Security Officer in a corporate, warehouse, law enforcement, or military environment is preferred
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPR certification desired
- Valid Driver’s License is required while employed as a Security Officer to drive Mattel fleet vehicles and fulfill the expectation of the job
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business policies, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals including detailed incident reports writing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer knowledge – (Word, internet and email)
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be willing to rotate shifts based on business need
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the SBDC
- Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions
- Must be able to properly respond in stressful situations and deescalate when needed
